India needs Modi as next Prime minister

On Thursday, 27th December, 2012, Shri Narendra Modi spoke heavily about the Congress led UPA for policy paralysis. He said that because of this policy paralysis the country is going towards stagnation and negative growth, and this will not help the nation. The Chief Minister was speaking at the sidelines of the meeting of the National Development Council (NDC), which he was attending. Shri Modi said that the last time they met they spoke of 9% growth, but they are still stuck at 7.9%. He also said that a nation like us is aspiring only for 0.3% growth?
The Chief Minister called for a permanent policy in fuel utilization that would be of great help. He said that in Gujarat a 3000 MW power plant is underutilized because of lack of fuel. He also called for a commission on natural resources where the Centre must take the views of the state into consideration. Shri Modi said that the Prime Minister is not at all serious about the energy infrastructure and he spoke on the needs of focusing on a smart grid, which can solve the problem. He stressed on the importance of skill development and said that 65% of our nation consists of youth, and it becomes necessary to make the youth a focal point of development initiatives.
Shri Modi said that the Planning Commission had outsourced the formulation of aspects on skill development but it has been 2 years since a single report has come. On the other hand, the Planning Commission studied the efforts that Gujarat was making to strengthen skill development. They studied the state’s Kaushalya Vardhan Kendras (KVK) and asked other states to study Gujarat’s model in this aspect. Shri Modi spoke about the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2013, and he said that more 100 nations will join the Summit and the focus will be SMEs, small-scale industries and knowledge partnership. When Modi was asked a question on the issue of FDI, the Chief Minister said that there has already been a lot of debate on that issue, and his party made their stand clear on the issue.
